The Diploma in Education (Islamic Studies) at Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) is a comprehensive program designed to equip aspiring educators with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to excel in Islamic studies teaching. This program is committed to produce qualified, competent and proficient teachers, preacher (da’ie) or trainers who incorporate Islamic perspective using holistic approaches. The Diploma in Education (Islamic Studies) program is comprehensive, covering University Compulsory Subjects, MQA Compulsory Subjects, Education Foundation, Professional Practice, and Discipline Core areas. This structure ensures a well-rounded education, encompassing Islamic Studies, holistic approaches, teaching methodologies, and practical teaching experience.

To graduate, students need to complete 93 credit hours, including 12 weeks of practicum at a primary school.

Our program is accessible to a wide range of applicants, with various pathways for admission:

  • A Pass in SPM or its equivalent with a minimum of THREE (3) credit AND pass ONE (1) in Arabic language subject OR ONE (1) Islamic Studies subject; OR
  • A certificate in Islamic Studies equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian government 
  • Upon graduation, our Diploma in Education (Islamic Studies) graduates will be able to:

    • Demonstrate a high level of Arabic language proficiency.

    • Design and implement engaging and culturally relevant Islamic Education lessons.
